Nonprofit partners with transit authority for resource fair

SAN ANGELO – Dana Sercos, Disability Connections and staff broke out the 80s music and wore outfits as an incentive to get 33 nonprofit agencies to mix “business with fun” at its Better Together Resource Fair, held at the Concho Valley Transit Authority, 510 N Chadbourne St.

Sercos, special projects coordinator, stated the nonprofit agency she represented and and the transit authority partnered together to host the event, held from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. to bring agencies and consumers together to make resources and information available for future assistance.

“We decided to make this a come-and-go fair so everyone could attend at their convenience,” she said.

Among the agencies participating are: Texas Health and Human Services Specialized Health and Social Services, Home Preferred Senior Care #9, Open Arms Rape Crisis Center LGBT, Senior Companion Program, Legal Aid of Northwest Texas, Housing Authority of San Angelo, West Texas RSPV, etc.

Disability Connections, in existence since 2009, is a center for independent living, nonresidential and designated to serve persons with disabilities of all ages. The agency is located at 2809 Southwest Blvd.
