¿Qué dice la Biblia?

Muchas veces, con orgullo, agravamos los problemas que creamos con nuestra lengua. Subestimamos el problema y sobreestimamos nuestro poder. ¿Qué dice la Biblia?

«Y la lengua es un fuego. La lengua es un mundo de maldad entre nuestros miembros; contamina todo el cuerpo, inflama el ciclo de la naturaleza y es inflamada por el infierno. Porque toda clase de bestias, aves, reptiles y criaturas marinas pueden ser domadas, y de hecho lo han sido por el ser humano; pero nadie puede domar la lengua, un mal inquieto, lleno de veneno mortal.» Santiago 3:6-8

De este pasaje aprendemos:

1. Como el fuego, debemos recordar siempre el gran poder destructivo que puede causar.

2. Debemos recordar que Satanás conoce este potencial y a menudo lo usa para contaminar y destruir el bien.

3. Si limitamos nuestro control a la lengua, fracasaremos.

4. Nunca podremos domar la lengua.

5. Debemos comenzar nuestro control en nuestra mente. Esto es difícil, pero posible.

«El hombre bueno, del buen tesoro de su corazón saca lo bueno; y el hombre malo, del mal tesoro de su corazón saca lo malo; porque de la abundancia del corazón habla la boca.» Lucas 6:45

What Does the Bible Say?

Many times we compound the problems that we create with our tongue by acting with pride. We under estimate the problem and overestimate our power. What does the Bible say?

“And the tongue is a fire. The tongue is an unrighteous world among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the cycle of nature, and set on fire by hell. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by humankind, but no human being can tame the tongue – a restless evil, full of deadly poison.” James 3:6-8

From this scripture we learn:

1. Like fire we must always remember the powerful destruction it can cause.

2. We must remember Satan knows this potential and often times uses it to stain and destory good.

3. If we restrict our control to the tongue we will fail.

4. We can never tame the tongue.

5. We must start our control in our mind. This is difficult but possible.

“The good man out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil man out of his evil treasure produces evil; for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” Luke 6:45
