Join Joe Weaver as he sings and plays guitar

April 9 at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.

Raised on a farm and ranch operation near Hereford in the Texas Panhandle, Joe and his wife Linda moved to the San Angelo area in 2013. You may have seen him in San Angelo Symphony's "Music in Literature" and "Music and Wellness" programs, the Railway Museum, Heritage Park or Sierra Vista United Methodist Church. Joe considers himself an "entertainer" rather than a "performer” because his main purpose is to make people laugh, feel good, or think kindly towards others.

He started when he was 15 on a guitar purchased with trading stamps. He grew up on country, gospel, and folk--both modern and traditional. His great-grandfather was a cowboy on the Chisholm Trail and taught a lot of the old cowboy songs to his grandson—Joe’s dad--who passed them on to Joe.

Joe will be doing a lot of train songs or songs where a train, a railroad, or a station are mentioned. Oh, and there is one subway song! You may want to visit Joe’s YouTube Channel--Warped n woofin' --where you can hear "Mama Fried," his parody of Merle Haggard’s “Mama Tried.

There is no charge to enjoy Joe’s performances thanks to the San Angelo Cultural Council. Tours are $3-5 and rides on the Choo Choo Train are $5 per person.

Visit the Railway Museum of San Angelo from 10 a.m. -4 p.m.,
