On 9/11/22, Officers with the SAPD were made aware of a social media post circulating regarding possible threats toward a local school. SAPD’s Criminal Investigation Division were requested to assist with the investigation and began gathering information to help develop a suspect.
The investigation continued into the morning hours of 9/12/22 and the SAPD worked in conjunction with SAISD to provided additional security at local schools while also continuing to investigate the incident. During this time, SAPD Detectives maintained a visual observance of the possible suspect.
During the morning hours of 9/12/22, the SAPD was able to take a 16 year old male subject into custody at a local residence and he was charged with “Terroristic Threats.” The 16 year old male was then transported to the Juvenile Justice Center without further incident.
We would like to thank the public for the numerous phone calls/messages that we received that made us aware of the social media post.
The goal of the SAPD and the SAISD is to maintain a safe and secure learning environment for all of our students throughout the City of San Angelo.
The SAPD and SAISD continues to highly encourage anyone with information regarding possible threats to our schools and students to contact the Police Department directly with their concerns so we can address them accordingly.
Las amenazas contra la escuela local conducen al arresto

El 11 de septiembre de 2022, los oficiales del SAPD se enteraron de una publicación en las redes sociales que circulaba sobre posibles amenazas contra una escuela local. Se solicitó a la División de Investigación Criminal de SAPD que ayudara con la investigación y comenzó a recopilar información para ayudar a desarrollar un sospechoso.
La investigación continuó hasta las horas de la mañana del 12/09/22 y el SAPD trabajó en conjunto con SAISD para brindar seguridad adicional en las escuelas locales mientras continuaba investigando el incidente. Durante este tiempo, los detectives de SAPD mantuvieron una observación visual del posible sospechoso.
Durante las horas de la mañana del 12/09/22, el SAPD pudo detener a un sujeto masculino de 16 años en una residencia local y fue acusado de "amenazas terroristas". Luego, el joven de 16 años fue transportado al Centro de Justicia Juvenil sin más incidentes.

El objetivo de SAPD y SAISD es mantener un entorno de aprendizaje seguro y protegido para todos nuestros estudiantes en toda la ciudad de San Angelo.
SAPD y SAISD continúan alentando a cualquier persona que tenga información sobre posibles amenazas a nuestras escuelas y estudiantes a comunicarse directamente con el Departamento de Policía con sus inquietudes para que podamos abordarlas en consecuencia.
