San Angelo, Texas – The San Angelo City Council held its biweekly meeting on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at the McNease Convention Center. The pledge of allegiance was led by the nieces of Lucy Gonzales and Pastor Marcela Jenkins led the opening prayer.
During the public comments, Janice Carter took the podium. Janice was born and raised in San Angelo and lives on N. Jefferson Street. A couple of years ago repairs were made on her street due to a water leak. This repair required a big area to be dug out then filled and repaired. Mrs. Carter’s concern is that there is a space within that area that now washes out every time rain falls creating a huge pothole and it sits that way for 2 or 3 months. The third time the city repaired it, the hole was filled with dirt and caliche. “I think they are spending too much money just patching it up over and over and it does no good, I think the fix needs to be a whole lot better because it’s going to washing out every time,” concluded Mrs. Carter. Mayor Gunter assured Mrs. Carter that notes had been made about her concern.

San Angelo, Texas – El martes 16 de Julio de 2019 el Consejo Municipal de San Angelo celebró su reunión bisemanal en el Centro de Convenciones McNease. La promesa de lealtad fue conducida por las sobrinas de Lucy Gonzales y la pastora Marcela Jenkins dirigió la oración de apertura.
Durante los comentarios públicos, Janice Carter abordó el podio. Janice nació y se creció en San Angelo y vive en la calle N. Jefferson. Hace un par de años se hicieron reparaciones en su calle debido a una fuga de agua. Esta reparación requería ser excavada una gran área para luego de reparase ser rellenada. La preocupación de la Sra. Carter es que hay un espacio dentro de esa área que ahora desaparece cada vez que cae la lluvia creando un enorme poso en la carretera y así se mantiene durante 2 o 3 meses hasta que la ciudad llega a repararlo. La tercera vez que la ciudad lo reparó fue rellenado de tierra y caliche. "Creo que están gastando demasiado dinero simplemente reparándolo una y otra vez y no sirve de nada, creo que la solución debe ser mucho mejor porque cada vez se va a delavar ", concluyó la Sra. Carter. La alcaldesa Gunter le aseguró a la señora Carter que se habían tomado notas sobre su preocupación.
