San Angelo, Texas – The Angelo State University (ASU) celebrated an agreement with U.S. Congressman Mike Conaway for the development of a new archive and exhibit in his name in the ASU Mayer Museum. The archive will feature historical materials from Conaway's time in office.
“The items at these archives have all the materials I have accumulated all the years I have been in office for a period of 16 years,” Congressman Conway said. “This includes a $250,000 gift from me to create the K. Michael Conaway Fellowship Endowment at the university.”
The Congressman also said this is the result of his work with ASU throughout the years, making sense to have the endowment established here.
“My message to the students is to be the best they can be,” Congressman said. “No matter what challenges are in front of them, they can use their talents acquired at ASU to face those challenges to make America the best place to live.”
ASU President Ronnie D. Hawkins Jr said that this endowment is incredibly important for the University at large.
“Because to be able to provide this type of information for the opportunities that might come from the endowment,” Hawkins said. “To help the students in that way, not just financially but the experience they could get is important to us.”

ASU desarrolla un nuevo archivo y exhibición en honor al congresista Conaway

San Angelo, Texas – La Angelo State University (ASU) celebró un acuerdo con el congresista estadounidense Mike Conaway para el desarrollo de un nuevo archivo y exhibición en su nombre en el ASU Mayer Museum. El archivo contará con materiales históricos de la época de Conaway en el cargo.
“Los elementos de estos archivos tienen todos los materiales que he acumulado durante todos los años que he estado en el cargo durante un período de 16 años”, dijo el congresista Conway. “Esto incluye una donación de $ 250,000 de mi parte para crear el Fondo de Becas K. Michael Conaway en la universidad”.
El congresista también dijo que este es el resultado de su trabajo con ASU a lo largo de los años, por lo que tiene sentido tener la dotación establecida aquí.
“Mi mensaje para los estudiantes es que sean lo mejor que puedan”, dijo el congresista. "No importa qué desafíos tengan frente a ellos, pueden usar sus talentos adquiridos en ASU para enfrentar esos desafíos y hacer de Estados Unidos el mejor lugar para vivir".
El presidente de ASU, Ronnie D. Hawkins Jr., dijo que esta donación es increíblemente importante para la Universidad en general.
