The Dancing With The Stars San Angelo Mirror Ball Trophy champ for 2022 turned out to be Steve Cecil. Cecil’s professional dance partner was Erin Lane. The competition was held in the Murphy Performance Hall, 72 W. College Ave.
SAN ANGELO – Dancing With The Stars San Angelo’s new lineup of local contestants paired with professional dancers were at Tuesday’s 5:30 p.m. rehearsals prepping for their 7 p.m. debut on Thursday, April 28, 2022 before family, friends, and a live television audience.
Conexión was there behind-the-scenes to catch the first three contestant/ professionals going over their dance routine. That trio included: Tiffany Talley and Cameron O’Briant, Kristy Huffman and Tim Layman, and Halle McCrory and Oscar Narvaez.
McCrory, the youngest of the contestants, teamed up with Narvaez and danced to Britney Spears’ 1998 pop hit, “Baby One More Time.”
The seven other contestants with their pro partners included: C.J. Luckey and Angela Brooks, Ronnie Gaines with Jade Bolding, Joy Higgins and David Weaver, Joe Thieman paired with Stacia McSpedden, Kristi Brasher with Aidan Carrasquel, Sterling Fryer and Skylar Layman, and Steve Cecil and Erin Lane.
All 10 contestants competed for this year’s Mirror Ball Trophy with the champion determined by whoever received more votes at $1 per vote than anyone else. The new champ turned out to be Cecil.
Dancing With the Stars San Angelo is West Texas Rehabilitation Center’s 4th annual fundraiser in behalf of Hospice of San Angelo. The total dollar amount raised for this year’s event was $426,641.
