Election day is coming up fast. On the ballot will be some Constitutional Amendments as well as some local issues for the City of San Angelo regarding Lake Nasworthy. The Water Valley School District will also have a proposition on the ballot.
The United States Constitution is one of this country most important documents. It is for this reason that any proposed changes to the document should be very important to everyone us, whether we were born citizens or worked very hard to become a citizen. There are 10 Constitutional Amendments that will be voted on in this election and it is our duty as part of the population of this country to educate ourselves about changes that can affect us and the future of our children.
The City of San Angelo is looking to use the principal balance of the Lake Nasworthy Trust Fund to enhance water recreation, for the elimination of related litter and for the replacement of the current sewer system.
The Water Valley Independent School District will be voting on a $16,000,000 bond.
According to the Texas Secretary of State the number of registered voters in Tom Green County from 1988 to 2018 went up by over 17,000 yet the number of actual voters during that time frame went up by only 1,010. If we don’t use our right to vote, then we don’t have the right to voice our complaints.
