Shelly and husband Robbie Hilton won first-place and $1,000 in the Lamb category of the International BBQ Cookers Association. This was the fifth year for the annual Brews Ewes & BBQ Competition.
SAN ANGELO – With perfect springlike weather conditions over the weekend, March 6, 2021, one of the biggest crowds, post COVID-19 came out to the fifth annual Brews Ewes & BBQ Competition. The cook-off judging started at 11:00 a.m.
A large numbers-wise audience gathered down by Neff’s Park, along the banks of the Concho River, and saw 50 teams from various parts of Texas compete in categories: chicken, ribs, lamb, brisket and beans.
Later at 6 p.m.an awards ceremony was held. The first-place finalist duo winners in the lamb category turned out to be Robbie and Shelly Hilton. The couple won $1,000.
Downtown San Angelo Inc. Delilah Sudduth in her fourth year as the chairwoman and board member, spoke with Conexión. “Everyone obviously was ready to get out as we had a great turnout in a competition sanctioned by the International BBQ Cookers Association. What better place and setting to have the Brewes and Ewes BBQ than by the river,” Sudduth said.

Shelly y su esposo Robbie Hilton ganaron el primer lugar y $ 1,000 en la categoría Cordero de la competencia de la Asociación Internacional de Cocineros BBQ. Este fue el quinto año de la competencia anual Brews Ewes & BBQ.
SAN ÁNGELO - Con unas condiciones climáticas primaverales perfectas durante el fin de semana del 6 de marzo de 2021, una de las mayores multitudes, post COVID-19, asistió a la quinta competencia anual Brews Ewes & BBQ. La etapa de competencia comenzó a las 11:00 a.m.
Una gran audiencia se reunió en el Parque Neff, a las orillas del Río Concho, y vio a 50 equipos de varias partes de Texas competir en categorías: pollo, costillas, cordero, pechuga y frijoles.
Más tarde, a las 6 de la tarde, se llevó a cabo una ceremonia de premiación. Los ganadores del primer lugar en la categoría de cordero resultaron ser Robbie y Shelly Hilton. La pareja ganó $1,000.
Delilah Sudduth, en su cuarto año como presidenta y miembro de la junta de Downtown San Angelo Inc., habló con Conexión. “Obviamente todos estaban listos para salir, ya que tuvimos una gran participación en una competencia autorizada por la Asociación Internacional de Cocineros de Barbacoa. Qué mejor lugar y escenario para hacer la barbacoa Brewes and Ewes que junto al río ”, dijo Sudduth.
