Q99 radio celebrates its seventh year on the air next month. Owner Tony Cuellar decided to do something special for the community that has supported its existence. A birthday bash is planned for Sep. 5, 2021.
SAN ANGELO – Tony Cuellar, owner of Q 99.5 radio, and wife Gloria are planning a big ole‘ birthday party hardy on Sunday, Sep. 5, 2021 to celebrate the seventh year of being in existence. The Cuellars are big on giving back to their community and their plans are to make this a free event to everyone as a way of saying thank you.
Before Cuellar talked about the birthday bash celebration, he was asked what factors contributed to his success.
“Getting involved by serving our community in doing fundraisers, meeting with other business owners who experienced success in growing their business.”
What wise counsel can you give others who are interested in starting their own business?
Tony attributes much of his success to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ which keeps his stress level to a minimum. And, if he makes an honest mistake in the decision-making process, it is not the end of the world from a business perspective.
“It’s important to stay focused, plan your work, stay the course, and continue to ‘fight the good fight of faith,’” he said.
Cuellar stated that doors at the Angelo Civic Hall will open at 12 noon for arts and crafts. Then a dance will take place at the Civic Hall, 3636 N. Bryant Blvd.
An all-star Hispanic lineup features: Richardo Castillon y La Diferenzia, La Calma, Lucky Joe, and Jamie DeAnda, the event is free to everyone over the age of 21.

Radio Q99 celebra su séptimo año al aire el próximo mes. El propietario, Tony Cuellar, decidió hacer algo especial por la comunidad que ha apoyado su existencia. Se planea una fiesta de cumpleaños para el 5 de septiembre de 2021.
SAN ÁNGELO - Tony Cuellar, propietario de la radiodifusora Q 99.5, y su esposa Gloria están planeando una gran fiesta de cumpleaños para el domingo 5 de septiembre de 2021 para celebrar el séptimo año de existencia. Los Cuellar creen en retribuir a su comunidad, y sus planes son hacer de este un evento gratuito para todos como una forma de agradecer.
Antes de que Cuellar hablara sobre la celebración de la fiesta de cumpleaños, se le preguntó qué factores contribuyeron a su éxito.
“Involucrarse sirviendo a nuestra comunidad en eventos de recaudación de fondos, reuniéndose con otros dueños de negocios que tuvieron éxito en hacer crecer su negocio”.
¿Qué consejo puede dar a otras personas interesadas en iniciar su propio negocio?
Tony atribuye gran parte de su éxito a una relación personal con Jesucristo que mantiene su nivel de estrés al mínimo. Y, si comete un error honesto en el proceso de toma de decisiones, no es el fin del mundo desde una perspectiva empresarial.
“Es importante mantenerse enfocado, planificar su trabajo, mantener el rumbo y continuar ‘peleando la buena batalla de la fe’”, dijo.
Cuellar dijo que las puertas del Angelo Civic Hall se abrirán a las 12 del mediodía para artes y manualidades. Luego se llevará a cabo un baile en el Civic Hall, 3636 N. Bryant Blvd.
