The month of October ended, and we began the month of November 2020 celebrating the Day of the Dead.

San Angelo, Texas – Publicly there were several celebrations of the Day of the Dead in which families from the community participated, as did Mrs. Carmen González who commented, “For me it is the celebration of my father Juan Valadez and my son Ernesto González”, "This is something very nice that Saint Angelo celebrates the Day of the Dead, it is something that touches our hearts because it is part of our Mexican tradition there in Ciudad Juárez where I am from.
On the tour, visiting the altars of the dead, we found the altar that was installed on the steps of the museum of fine arts, which was adorned with the clothes and photographs of many people who have already passed away.
When remembering her loved ones Mrs. González said. "My father loved taquitos and my son liked chicken tamales, but we couldn't bring those relics because they weren't allowed."
Mrs. González wants to continue remembering her father and her son with joy and that is what she recommends to all families that have lost a relative, that they remember them with love and not with pain.

Recordando a sus Muertos
Terminó el mes de octubre, y comenzamos el mes de noviembre de 2020 celebrando el día de muertos.

San Angelo, Texas – Públicamente hubo varias celebraciones del día de muertos en las que participaron familias de la comunidad tal como lo hizo la señora Carmen González quien comentó, “Para mí es la celebración de mi papá Juan Valadez y de mi hijo Ernesto González”, “Esto es algo muy bonito que san Angelo celebre el día de los muertos es algo que nos llega al corazón porque es parte de nuestra tradición mexicana allá en ciudad Juárez de donde soy yo”.
En el recorrido visitando los altares de muertos encontramos el altar que fue instalado en las escalinatas del museo de bellas artes, que fue adornado con las prendas y fotografías de muchas personas que ya pasaron a mejor vida.
Al recordar a sus seres queridos la señora González dijo. “A mi padre le encantaban los taquitos y a mi hijo le gustaban los tamales de pollo, pero no pudimos traer esas reliquias porque no se permitía”.
La señora González quiere seguir recordando a su padre y a su hijo con alegría y eso es lo que recomienda a todas las familias que han perdido a un familiar, que los recuerden con amor y no con dolor.
